Overview
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder affects attention, impulse control, and activity regulation. It's often identified in childhood but frequently continues — or is first recognized — in adulthood.
Common Signs & Symptoms
- Difficulty sustaining attention or following through on tasks
- Being easily distracted or forgetful in daily activities
- Fidgeting, restlessness, or difficulty staying seated
- Impulsive decisions or interrupting others
- Poor time management or organization
- Symptoms present in more than one setting (home, school, work)
When to Seek Help
A formal assessment — not just a checklist — is important, since several conditions can look similar to ADHD.
